Ball Drop in Times Square

The traditional midnight ball drop during New Year's Eve happens in Times Square New York. A time ball is raised to the top of One Times Square Building and lowered down with a count down to mark the New Year.



Lots of people who brave the cold weather watches the event live, while some who preferred to stay at the comfort of their home with their loved ones watch it on television.

This year won't be an exception as another ball drop is about to happen on Times Square December 31, 2010 to mark the upcoming New Year 2011.
